The mission of the Distance Education Department is to support the success of Fullerton College students who use educational technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. Announcements Canvas courses will be available to students on the first day of class. Instructors may opt to make them available earlier. Help for students, staff, and faculty For help with Canvas, call 844-600-4948. Or, click on the Help icon in your Canvas dashboard to send a message under “Report a Problem.” Three Ways to Access Canvas Canvas link on the Fullerton College website in the upper right corner or the three lines on the mobile version. Click the Canvas logo Go directly to the secure login page at: fullcoll.instructure.com. Login to MyGateway . Go to the Student or Faculty tab, and scroll down to the Distance Education box. Click on Canvas at Fullerton College. Login using your MyGateway user name and password. If you reset your MyGateway password, do it only once and wait for the system to sync up which can take up to an hour. If you reset it multiple times, the system will get gridlocked. For help with MyGateway, call the District Information Services Help Desk: 714-808-4849. Campus Computer Lab Locations & Hours  Hybrid A hybrid Distance Education course replaces some face-to-face class time with online instructional time. Any Distance Education course that provides a percentage of class time online and a percentage on campus is considered a hybrid course. A campus-supported Learning Management System is used to provide course content replacing face-to-face time. Students must have access to a computer and the Internet. A hybrid course will be designated as Hybrid in published campus materials.  Online An online Distance Education course is delivered via the Internet using a campus supported Learning Management System (LMS). On-campus meetings are determined by each Department. Students are required to use a computer with Internet access as the primary technology and may be required to use other available technologies to acquire and learn course content. Through regular effective contact, instructor and students interact to complete assignments and assessments and to demonstrate Student Learning Outcomes. An online course will be designated as Online in published campus materials.  Web-enhanced Face-to-face courses that use an online learning management system (LMS), such as Blackboard or Canvas. As cited in BP5500, “A student who violates the standards of student conduct shall be subject to disciplinary action including, but not limited to, the removal, suspension or expulsion of the student.” You are in violation of the Standards of Student Conduct and Discipline Policy any time you allow someone else to log in and/or complete your coursework on your behalf.
